Hey there, and welcome back to Life, Unfiltered with my 10 Days Of Celebrating Life series. If you missed 10 Days Of Celebrating Life: Day 1, take a moment to catch up real quick!
Also, apologies for not posting Day 2 on the actual second day of October. Understandably, life gets busy for a depressed college student with three toddlers birds. So I think just for ease of posting, I’ll be lumping the next six days into three posts covering two days each and giving Day 10 a standalone post with a reflection.
So, let’s get into Days 2 & 3!

Hey there, folks, and welcome to Day 2 of my 10 Days Of Celebrating Life!
To celebrate life today, I did something very simple: I made myself a cute little bowl of yogurt. It seems small, but as I mentioned in a previous post, Navigating Depression As A Busy College Student, depression makes the tiniest action feel like an insurmountable challenge. And a way I combat that is by making myself pretty meals. Showing myself that I am worthy of a pretty meal is a show of strength that seems so little but is huge in working towards self-love.
So, I made yogurt for breakfast. A nice big bowl with lots of strawberries, both fresh and freeze-dried, and a mound of whipped cream on top. Eaten on the front porch with the dog at my feet begging for a strawberry (he received many…) and my favorite playlist on, I celebrated being alive.

Heyyyyy there! It is Day 3, happy Friday everyone!
So to celebrate life today, I decided to just have a chill day for myself. What did I do with that chill day?
I might lose a few of you here, but everyone who knows me personally knows that I love dinosaurs. So much so that I will buy dinosaur toys that I find cool and give them a prettier paint job. So that’s what I did. With a few of my favorite YouTube channels playing in the background, I spent the morning sculpting the tail and spines of this ugly Spinosaurus toy I bought back in 2024.
Let’s keep it up!
Alexandra
