On Punk Pulse Magazine

Hey there and welcome back to In The Making, where I CONTINUE to ramble on about new projects (even though I should probably just calm down)…
I mentioned in a previous post, The Adulting Journals Story, that my blog began as a feminist web magazine, highlighting female figures throughout history as well as female artists within the punk scene and all its subgenres.
I loved Punk Pulse Magazine with everything in me and took so much pride in working towards the final launch, and it absolutely broke my heart when I made the tough decision to delete it. I still feel it was for the best in order to preserve my (at the time) very fragile mental wellbeing having just been sexually assaulted. The Adulting Journals has been a fun and motivating creative project meant to allow me to share my stories throughout my healing journey.
I never began a blog with the intention of making money or creating a large following, but only for the love of writing. And though I have very few readers, I think my blog is making at least the smallest impact for individuals who can relate to my stories.
With everything happening in the world today, I can’t help but feel drawn towards becoming more of a fully-fledged feminist. I think the world needs a site like Punk Pulse Magazine. I think with everything that’s been happening in my own life, I need Punk Pulse Magazine. And though I doubt it will end up making a widespread difference, it would be well worth all the effort to help one person feel less alone, to change the heart of a misogynist, or give a sense of community to women of all ages.
I can’t make any promises given that I’ll soon be turning my full attention towards my paramedic certification, but I would love to someday create Punk Pulse Magazine as a sister site to The Adulting Journals.
That would, of course, require me to recruit other writers to create content alongside my own writing, as a web magazine typically has multiple posts a week, coming from several writers. Finding fellow bloggers who would enjoy writing within my intended niche could end up being a difficult process, but one I would pursue regardless if I felt it was worth it.
I really want to bring change and goodness to the world. It’s why I’m becoming a paramedic. I want nothing more than to help my community, and if I believe Punk Pulse Magazine can do that, I will put in the work to make it happen.
It would likely be a year or so before I could even begin to think about launching another site with all the preparations I would need to make while balancing paramedic school and other responsibilities, but I just want to keep an open mind and share my ideas with you lovely people.
If you’d be interested in me making Punk Pulse Magazine a reality, comment down below. And if you’d be interested in becoming a Punk Pulse writer, please feel free to reach out through the email provided in the About page of my site!
With ideas still brewing,
Alexandra
